The Mombasa Hospital is a center of medical excellence with a reputation that has grown over the years.
the high quality of care is recognised by the medical profession and by the patients who come to us.
To ensure that the integrity of the hospital is beyond reproach, the Mombasa Hospital has a Medical
Advisory Committee and a Quality Control Committee, both of which carefully watch over our medical
standards through a system of medical and departmental audits thereby enabling our staff to maintain our
service excellence.
Our diagnostic and treatment facilities are comprehensive and include up to date equipment to help
us provide treatment for major conditions. The latest addition is a Digital X-ray unit, the only one
of its kind at the coast.The development of the hospital never really stops,because the pace of change
always increases and we must keep up.We are in the process of consulting with the hospital users with
a view to drawing up a list of projects which will form a Fourth Development Phase.Suggestions so
far include:
New ultra-modern maternity complex that will include a nursery,a neo-natal unit,labour ward,operating theatre
and self-contained rooms;
Consulting Rooms that will accomodate more hospital-based private doctors;
An accident/emergency unit;
A cardiac Centre;
Installation of a desalination plant;
Establishment of an Endoscopy Unit;
A modern library with internet access.
As part of our corporate social responsibility, we organised the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign;
hosted two cardiology clinics;one cancer clinic;a Total Knee Replacement Symposium;a Free Medical
Check-up;a staff visit and donation to Mji wa Salama Orphanage and a charity walk for the benefit
of the Sickle cell Anaemia Foundation.

The Mombasa Hospital,established in 1891, is the oldest and biggest private hospital at the coast.
It is owned by the Mombasa Hospital Association.
 The original Mombasa Hospital building dating back to 1891, has benefited from conservation and is now a National Monument. The Association is a non-profit making organisation. Any surplus generated from the hospital is ploughed back to improve hospital services. |
